Deleting a booking removes it and gives back anything the customer already paid. You choose whether that money goes back as cash or onto their wallet.

Deleting cannot be undone. Use it for bookings that should never have existed. To stop a real booking going ahead, cancel it instead.

Before you start

Not everyone can delete. If you cannot see the bin icon on a booking's row, ask an owner.

Steps

  1. Open the list for that booking type: Bookings → Boarding, Bookings → Daycare, Bookings → In House Grooming, Bookings → Mobile Grooming or Bookings → Clinic.
  2. Find the booking's row and press the bin icon at the end of it.
  3. Read the first line. If money has been taken, it says the full amount paid is refunded before the booking goes.
  4. Type why you are deleting it in Reason. This cannot be left empty.
  5. If a payment was taken, pick Cash or Wallet under Return Amount To.
  6. Press Delete.

Where the money goes back to

Wallet puts the amount on the customer's wallet, ready to come off their next bill. Happy Pet keeps the record.

Cash means you hand the money over yourself. The popup says so:

Note: Cash returns are not stored in the system. Please hand the cash to the customer manually.

The invoice goes with it

If the booking has an invoice, the popup shows its number and removes the invoice too. Any amount paid is still refunded the way you chose above.

Finding a booking you deleted

A deleted booking is still on your records. Open the same list, press the three dots at the top and choose Deleted Bookings. In-patient stays call it Deleted Admissions. The list carries a Deleted On date, so you can see when it happened and who it was for.

If the Delete button does nothing

The reason is required. An empty Reason box stops the delete and shows:

Please enter a reason for deleting this booking

If a payment was taken and you have not chosen where it goes back to, you see:
