When customers pay you straight into your bank rather than by card, add the account here so those payments can be recorded properly.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings, then Manual Payment Account.
  2. Add an account.
  3. Fill in the Account name, Account holder name and Bank name.
  4. Enter the Account number, then type it again under Re-enter account number.
  5. Enter the IFSC code and the Branch name.
  6. Set the Opening balance and the As of date if you are starting from a balance you already have.
  7. Save.

Why it asks for the number twice

Because a wrong digit sends somebody's money to a stranger. Typing it twice is the cheapest check there is, so do not paste the same value into both boxes.

Read it back against your bank statement rather than against the paperwork you copied it from.

Opening balance

If the account already has money in it, put that in as the Opening balance with the date it was true. That way what HappyPet shows will match your bank rather than starting from zero and drifting.

If you are opening a new account for this, leave it at zero.

More than one account

Add as many as you take money into. Businesses often have one for the business and one personal account that customers still pay into, and it is better to record that honestly than to pretend it does not happen.

Edit account changes the details. Delete account removes one that is no longer used.

What this does not do

It does not connect to your bank. Nothing is fetched automatically, and a payment does not appear on its own when a customer sends money.

Somebody still records the payment against the invoice when it lands. This screen is about having the right account to record it to, and about your records matching what your bank says.
