Use the Tasks board to track feeding, walks, medication and cleaning jobs for the day, so nothing gets missed when different people are on shift.

Before you start

You need the Task Management permission to see Tasks in the sidebar. If you do not see it, ask your admin to turn it on for your role in Settings → Roles & Permissions.

Open the board

  1. Press Tasks in the sidebar.
  2. The board shows three columns: To do, In progress and Done.
  3. Use the date arrows at the top to look at a different day.

Some tasks appear on the board on their own. If a pet is booked in for Boarding or Daycare, Happy Pet adds their feeding and walk tasks for you.

Add a task

  1. Press Add task.
  2. Choose the type, Pet care (feeding, meds, walks, playtime, grooming) or Facility (cleaning, restocking, laundry, repairs).
  3. Pick a suggested title, or type your own.
  4. Choose when it needs doing, Anytime, Morning, Afternoon, Evening, or an exact time for anything on the clock, like medication.
  5. Assign it to a team member, or leave it as Anyone.
  6. Add a checklist line for each pet if the task covers more than one, for example feeding across three dogs on the same day.
  7. Press Save.

Move a task along

Open a task and press In progress or Done, or use the move buttons on the card to step it forward or back one column at a time.

Filter the board

Use the All, Pet care and Facility tabs above the board to narrow what you see. Use the assignee filter to see only tasks for one person, or only tasks nobody has claimed yet.

Deleting a task

You can delete a task you created yourself. A branch manager can delete any manually added task. Tasks Happy Pet created automatically from a booking cannot be deleted, only marked done, because they are tied to that pet's stay.

Printing a task sheet

Press Print Task Sheet to get a paper checklist for the floor, useful when a phone or tablet is not practical mid-shift.
