Consultation notes are reached from the appointment or the in patient stay they belong to, rather than from the main menu. That is on purpose: a note without a visit attached is hard to make sense of later.
What to record
The notes follow the usual four parts: what the owner told you, what you found on examination, what you think is going on, and what you are doing about it.
Fill in what is relevant. A short note that is actually written beats a long one that never gets finished.
Why it is worth the two minutes
The next person to see that pet, which may be you in six months, starts from what you wrote. A pet that reacted badly to something last time is exactly the sort of thing nobody remembers and everybody needs.
If something goes wrong
If you cannot find the notes, open the appointment or the in patient stay first. They live with the visit rather than on their own.
