Rather than taking a new customer's details over the phone, you can send them a form to fill in themselves. What they enter comes into HappyPet, so nobody retypes it.
Steps
- Go to Settings, then Customer Onboarding.
- Turn on Enable Customer Onboarding Form.
- Choose which questions to ask.
- Press Save & Preview to check it, or Save Changes to save without looking.
Preview Form shows you what the customer sees. Use it before you send the link to anybody, because a form reads very differently from the customer's side.
What to ask for
Ask for what you need to take a booking and to look after the animal safely. Name, number, the pet, its breed, its age, anything medical.
Every extra question loses people. A form that asks twenty things gets abandoned halfway and you end up ringing them anyway, which is the thing you were trying to avoid.
If you are not going to read the answer, do not ask the question.
Fixing a mistake
Reset puts the form back. Cancel drops what you have changed since you last saved.
If you have unsaved work, the screen tells you with Unsaved changes rather than letting you wander off and lose it.
After a customer fills it in
Their details come in and you can check them before they become a customer. That check matters, because people mistype their own phone numbers surprisingly often and that number is where every message goes.
Worth knowing
The form is for new customers giving you their details. It is not the same thing as online booking, which is for taking an actual booking. Many businesses use both, with the form first and booking after.
