HappyPet comes with boarding, daycare, grooming and clinic built in. If you sell something else, such as training, dog walking or a pet taxi, you add it yourself and it becomes bookable in the same way.
Steps
- Go to Additional Services.
- Press Create Service.
- Give it a Catalogue Name, which is what your team and your customers will see.
- Choose the Animal Type it is for.
- Set the price and how long it takes.
- Choose whether it needs Staff Assignment, which is whether a person has to be put against the booking.
- Choose the branch, or tick Same for all branches.
- Save.
Naming it
Use the words your customers use, not an internal code. This name shows on the booking, on the invoice and in the message the customer gets, so a name that only makes sense to you causes questions later.
Whether to assign staff
Turn Staff Assignment on when the job needs a particular person, such as a trainer or a walker. Their name then goes on the booking and it counts towards how busy they are.
Leave it off for anything the team picks up between them.
How long it takes
The time you set is what blocks out the diary. Setting it short makes the day look emptier than it is and leads to double booking. Set it to how long the job really takes, including getting ready and clearing up.
Branches
A service belongs to the branch you assign it to unless you tick the box for all of them. Prices often differ between branches, so it is usually better to add one for each than to share one.
What happens next
Once it exists you can take bookings against it, and it appears in your own bookings area rather than under boarding or grooming.
