HappyPet can message a customer when their booking is made, when their pet is ready, and at other points in the visit. You write the wording once and it goes out every time, from your own WhatsApp number.

Where these live

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Open WhatsApp Message Templates.
  3. Choose the Auto template tab.

The same screen holds three kinds of message, which is worth knowing so you do not edit the wrong one:

  • Manual template is what you send by hand from a booking
  • Chat template is what you pick when replying in the inbox
  • Auto template is the one that goes out on its own

Turning one on

  1. Find the moment you want a message sent for.
  2. Press Set up.
  3. Write the wording and save it.
  4. Wait for WhatsApp to approve it.
  5. Turn it on.

A message that is working says Sending automatically. One that is switched off says Paused. Use Add another if you want more than one message for the same moment.

Approval comes first

WhatsApp checks every message before a business is allowed to send it, so there is a wait between writing it and using it. While it is waiting it shows as PENDING, and Refresh pending status asks WhatsApp again rather than making you reload the page.

If it comes back as REJECTED, see why WhatsApp rejected your message.

Do not overdo it

One message when the booking is made and one when the pet is ready is welcome. A message at every step is noise, and people block businesses that send too much. You cannot undo being blocked.

Search messages helps once you have a few set up and you are looking for one in particular.

If a message did not go out

Check it says Sending automatically rather than Paused, and that the customer's number is saved with the country code. A number saved without one will not receive anything.
