Extras are the things sold on top of the main service. A nail trim during a groom, a medicated bath, an extra walk during a boarding stay.

Setting them up means they go on the bill at the right price instead of somebody remembering to mention it.

Steps

  1. Go to Additional Services.
  2. Press Create Service.
  3. Enter the Catalogue Name.
  4. Choose the Animal Type.
  5. Set the price and how long it takes.
  6. Turn on Staff Assignment if a particular person has to do it.
  7. Choose the branch, or tick Same for all branches.
  8. Save.

The same screen does two jobs

This is where you add extras, and it is also where you create a whole booking type of your own such as training or a pet taxi.

The difference is how you use it, not how you set it up. An extra gets added to somebody else's booking. A booking type gets booked on its own.

If you are adding something that stands on its own, see how to create your own booking type.

Pricing

Price them as the customer would expect to see them on a bill. An extra priced at a number that looks made up invites questions at the counter.

If an extra takes real time, set the time honestly. Extras that are treated as free minutes are how a groomer's day quietly overruns.

Which pets

An extra set up for dogs will not be offered on a cat booking. Add it for each pet type you sell it for.

Update Service

Editing an existing one changes it from now on. Bookings already taken keep the price they were taken at, which is what you want, because a customer who was quoted one price should not see another.

If an extra is not offered on a booking

Check the pet type and the branch first. Between them those explain nearly every case.
