If you sell the same products in your shop and on a Shopify site, connecting the two stops you counting the same tin of food twice.
Steps
- Go to Settings, then Shopify Integration.
- Read How to connect and follow it.
- Sign in with Login with HappyPet Tech.
- Read What happens after you accept before you accept anything.
- Accept.
Once it is done the screen shows Connected, with Connected On and Last Synced so you can see it is still working.
What it does
Product Sync keeps stock levels lined up. When something sells on Shopify, your count here comes down.
Under Sync Behaviour you decide how much it does on its own. Enable sync turns it on and Disable sync pauses it, and the screen tells you which state you are in.
Which stock goes first
Order Deduction Settings decides which batch is used when an order comes in.
Expiry Priority takes from stock closest to going out of date first, with Short Expiry or Long Expiry. Batch Selection lets you go by Oldest or Newest instead.
For anything with a date on it, taking short expiry stock first is almost always right. It is what you would do by hand on the shelf, and it is how you stop writing stock off.
Pausing it
Pausing is the safe move when something looks wrong. It stops changes flowing while you work out what is happening, and nothing is lost.
Disconnected means the link is gone rather than paused, and reconnecting means signing in again.
Before you connect
Get your counts right first. Connecting two systems that disagree does not settle the argument, it spreads it.
Count your stock, fix what is wrong, then connect.
