HappyPet runs in your phone's browser, but you do not have to open the browser and type the address every time. You can add it to your home screen and it will open with its own icon, filling the screen like any other app.

There is a second reason to do it. On an iPhone, alerts only work once HappyPet has been added to the home screen.

On an iPhone

  1. Open HappyPet in Safari. This does not work in Chrome on an iPhone.
  2. Press the share button, which is the square with an arrow coming out of the top.
  3. Scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Press Add.

Open it from the new icon from now on. Alerts will only work when you have opened it this way.

On an Android phone

  1. Open HappyPet in Chrome.
  2. Press the three dots in the top corner.
  3. Choose Install app, or Add to Home screen if you do not see that.
  4. Confirm.

What changes

It opens without the browser address bar, so you get more of the screen. It keeps you signed in. It sits with your other apps rather than being lost in a pile of browser tabs.

What does not change

It is the same HappyPet with the same information. Nothing is stored only on the phone, so there is no separate copy to lose and nothing to keep up to date.

You still need a connection. This is not an app that works without one.

If you do not see the option

On an iPhone, check you are in Safari. The option is not there in other browsers.

On Android, some browsers other than Chrome hide it. If yours does, open HappyPet in Chrome and try again.
