Before you take your first booking, a few things need to be in place. This guide puts them in the order that works, so you do not have to go back and redo anything.

Most setup screens open on a computer rather than a phone.

Steps 1 and 2 are needed before you can take any booking. The rest can wait until you need them.

Step 1: Add your services and prices

Everything else points back at your services. Rooms, bookings and your online booking page all ask which service the customer is buying, so this comes first.

Go to Settings, then Price Catalogue, and add each service you offer with its price. You can set different prices by pet size, breed and coat type if you charge that way.

Step 2: Add your rooms

Skip this step if you only do grooming.

Boarding bookings ask which room each pet is staying in, so the rooms have to exist first. Go to Rooms & Spaces and add each kennel, room or shared space, with how many pets it holds.

Step 3: Add your team

Go to Staff Management to add the people who work with you. Each person gets their own login.

You choose what each person can see under Roles & Permissions. For example a groomer can see the day's appointments without seeing your sales figures.

Step 4: Take your first booking

Once your services and rooms are in, you can take bookings. See how to add a boarding booking.

Step 5: Let customers book you online

When you are ready, go to Settings, then Online Booking, to turn on the booking page customers can use themselves. Requests arrive under Booking Requests for you to accept.

Step 6: Turn on customer messages

HappyPet can message customers on WhatsApp when a booking is made or a pet is ready. This one needs our help to set up, so email us at help@happypet.care when you want it switched on.
