What the trainer writes up after each session, and what the pet parent then sees.

Before you start

You need permission to log sessions, or permission to edit training bookings. Without either, Log session is not there.

Most of this is done on a computer. On a phone the Log session button is hidden on the next session. Reach it from the row's menu instead.

Log a one-to-one session

  1. Go to Bookings and press the Training tab.
  2. Open the booking.
  3. Press the Course tab.
  4. Press Log session on the session you are writing up. On the next session it is a button. On a later one, press the three dots at the end of the row and choose Log session.
  5. Read the notes in the box at the top and tick I've read these notes.
  6. Set the level reached under Skills worked on.
  7. Write the note for the pet parent, and what to practise at home.
  8. Press Save and mark done.

You will see:

Session saved.

Writing up a session that is already done gives you Save changes instead.

The box you have to tick

The safety notes at the top are there so nobody starts a session without reading what happened last time. Saving is refused until you tick it:

Tick the box to save.

Triggers seen below it is optional, and only your team sees it. Name a trigger and you then have to pick a reaction, or the drawer says Pick one.

What the pet parent sees

Three things reach the pet parent's own progress page. The note you wrote for them, the skill levels, and the practice at home. Nothing is sent for you.

To send them the link, open the booking, press More actions and choose Share progress page. Press Send on WhatsApp, or Copy message to send it your own way.

That choice only appears once a session has been logged, because before then there is nothing to show.

Logging a session before its date

Log a session dated in the future and you are asked:

Log this session for today?

Choose Move later sessions up too or Keep other dates. A table shows what each one changes. Press Yes, log it for today.

In a group class the other sessions stay on their class dates, so there is nothing to choose.

Logging a whole class

A group class is logged from Batches in the sidebar, not from one booking.

Open the batch and press Log session. It takes you through one dog at a time, then a review step before you finish.

Press Save and next on each dog, then Finish at the end. Log later leaves a dog for another time, and the class stays open until every dog is logged.

You cannot log a class with nobody in it:

Add a student before logging a class.

Reporting an incident

A bite, an injury, a fight or a pet running off is recorded separately. Open the booking, press More actions and choose Report an incident.

Fill in what happened, when, and what you did. Press Save the report.

A report cannot be changed once it is saved, so read it before you press. Add a note to the activity log if something comes to light later.
