Book a pet onto a course, or onto their first consultation.
Before you start
You need a published training program. Without one the booking screen says so:
No programs to book yet
Press Set up a program there, or see how to set up a training program.
You also need training hours for the branch. The date picker says No training hours set yet. and offers Set training hours.
For a group class, the batch has to exist already. Add batches under Batches in the sidebar.
Taking a booking needs permission to create training bookings.
Take the booking
- Go to Bookings and press the Training tab. It carries a Beta badge.
- Press Add Booking in the header and choose Training. On a small phone that button is a plus icon, so use the button on the list instead.
- Under Who's the pet parent?, pick the customer.
- Under Which pet needs training?, pick the pet. You cannot pick a pet before the customer.
- Under When does the course start?, set the branch, the date and the time. For a consultation first, this reads When is the consultation? instead.
- Under What are they booking?, pick the Program, and the Batch for a group class. Then set the trainer and the schedule.
- Under Notes, add anything the trainer should know. That one is optional.
- Under Pre-consultation form, choose Send the form or Fill it in at the consultation.
- Press Confirm booking.
One press does it. On a phone the button is in the bar at the bottom, beside View summary.
What happens straight after
The booking opens and a box appears, headed Share the booking with the pet parent's name.
Nothing is sent for you. Press Send on WhatsApp to send it, or Copy message to send it your own way. Close the box to skip it.
If the trainer was not free for every session you will see:
Booking created. Some sessions fall when the trainer is not free.
The booking is made. Open the Course tab and move those sessions.
The booking's tabs
Overview shows what is next and is where you start the consultation. Waiver is the form the pet parent signs, and carries a tick once it is signed. Course holds the sessions. Assessment is the trainer's write-up. Billing is the money.
Course reads Consultation until there is a course to show.
If the pet cannot join
A pet outside the program's age limits, or missing a required vaccine, is blocked. The screen offers Book anyway, which only a manager can use, and then asks Why book anyway?. The reason is required.
If you are not a manager, the screen says only a manager can book past it.
If something goes wrong
The checks run when you press Confirm booking, and the screen scrolls to the first thing missing. The common ones are:
Choose the pet parent.
Choose the pet.
Choose a training program.
Pick a batch.
If you are sending a trainer to the pet parent's home, the address is required:
Choose the address the trainer visits.
Pick a day you do not train and the picker tells you training is closed that day.
