Stock goes up when you record what arrived, not when you place the order. So the delivery has to be received in HappyPet or your counts will drift.

The order of things

  1. Raise a Purchase Order for what you are buying.
  2. When the delivery turns up, record it as a Purchase Receive against that order.
  3. Your stock count goes up by what you actually received.

If the delivery is short

Record what actually came, not what you ordered. If you ordered ten and eight arrived, receive eight. The order stays open for the rest, so you can see what the supplier still owes you.

This is the step people are most tempted to skip when they are busy. Skipping it is what makes a count wrong weeks later, with no way to tell where it went out.

If something goes wrong

If you cannot find the order, check the branch. Orders belong to the branch that raised them.

If the delivery arrived without an order, raise the order first and then receive it. It takes a moment and keeps the trail complete.
