The vaccinations you ask for are your own decision, and different pet types need different ones. This is where you set that, and it feeds the reminders your team works from.

Where they live

Go to Settings, then Pet Settings, and choose Vaccinations or Tick Prevention Methods.

Setting up a vaccination

  1. Choose the pet type it applies to.
  2. Add the vaccination.
  3. Mark it Required or Optional.
  4. Set how many Months it lasts before it is due again.
  5. Save.

Required or optional

Required means you will not board or groom the animal without it. Optional means you record it if the owner has it but it does not stop a booking.

Be honest about which is which. Marking everything required means your team starts ignoring the warnings, which defeats the point.

How many months

This is what makes reminders work. A vaccination set to twelve months puts the pet on your reminders list before the year is up, so you can tell the owner in good time rather than turning them away at the door.

Set it wrong and you either chase people too early or find out too late.

Tick prevention

Tick Prevention Methods is the list of treatments you accept. Your team picks from it when recording what an owner uses.

Keeping the list to the treatments actually in use where you are makes it quicker to pick the right one.

Taking one out of use

Archive removes it from the list your team picks from, while leaving it on the pets that already have it recorded. Unarchive brings it back.

Archive rather than delete when a treatment is discontinued. The history on existing pets is a medical record and is worth keeping intact.

Different pet types

A cat does not need the same list as a dog. Set each pet type up separately or your team will be looking at options that make no sense for the animal in front of them.
